Wood Blinds
Stained wood blinds are one of the most preferred by customers at Teter’s Creations. Wood blinds allow us to match the stain to existing wood tones in your home, ensuring a seamless look. Wood blinds are available with either interior or exterior mounts to fit any existing window frame.
Inside mount: This is the most typical way to mount your blinds because most windows have the space or shape that is most convenient to do inside mount installation.
Outside mount: When you have a specialty shape, tile, or window with no space to install the blinds, we recommend installing the blinds outside the window. Typically, windows replaced in older homes tilt inward for the convenience of cleaning the outside of your windows from the inside of the house. Outside mount blinds will be the best way to accommodate the customer’s needs.
Faux Wood Blinds
Faux wood blinds are moisture-resistant while offering a natural, real wood look. They are appealing in many different styles and tend to be more affordable, making them the preferred option for some customers from homeowners to contractors.
Moisture resistance makes faux wood blinds suitable for any room, including bathrooms, patios, and other humid spaces. Faux wood blinds are very low maintenance and easy to clean, no matter their size.
Faux wood blinds also come in many different colors to go with your home’s decor – they’re easily mixed with custom drapes, valences, or cornice boards to sophisticate any space. They can operate with cordless, chain, corded, or fully automated lifts. Cordless and automated options are safest for homes with small children and pets. Like real wood blinds, faux wood blinds can be mounted inside or outside of the window opening (see above for details).
Cordless Blinds
You value your family’s safety even more than we do. That’s why we offer cordless blinds. Cordless blinds eliminate the risk your children or pets getting hurt since no cords will be accessible to them. We recommend cordless blinds for homes with small children because, unfortunately, accidents can (and do) happen. If children or pets become entangled in the cords, the sad reality is that strangulation can happen in as little as 1-2 minutes.
Keeping kids safe can be a challenge when danger may not be obvious. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission calls corded window coverings one of American homes’ top five hidden hazards.
Cordless blinds are one way to fully eliminate that risk, especially in children’s bedrooms, playrooms, or other places where they typically have less supervision. Keep your child’s safety in mind as you consider cordless options that are available to you.
The Window Covering Council (WCSC) is dedicated to educating parents and caregivers about the potential strangulation risk of window blinds and shade cords and urges consumers to only use cordless window coverings or window coverings with inaccessible cords in homes with young children.
